Prof. Caijun Shi is a Chair Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Civil Engineering, Hunan University, China, where he is widely recognized as a leading global authority in civil engineering and materials science. His research primarily focuses on sustainable, low-carbon building materials, including green high-performance concrete, alkali-activated cements, industrial by-product utilization, and carbon mineralization technologies for carbon-negative construction.

Throughout his career, Professor Shi has authored or co-authored over 700 technical papers, accumulated tens of thousands of citations, and holds more than 50 patents, several of which have been implemented in large-scale construction projects worldwide. In addition to his academic appointments, Prof. Shi serves as the President of the Asian Concrete Federation (ACF) and is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Sustainable Cement-Based Materials.

His contributions to the discipline have earned him prestigious accolades globally, including election as an Academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a Foreign Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, alongside fellowships in organizations such as the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and RILEM. Highly cited internationally, he regularly ranks at the top of Stanford University’s global rankings for scientists in the Building & Construction sector.
